That’s all. Not all for my blog, but probably all for my Drupal site, and almost certainly all for Site5, my hosting service. See, here are the things Jonathan and I have done to try to conserve server resource usage:
- Deleted all seven of my subdomains
- Upgraded to Drupal 5.1
- Reconfigured my robots.txt file so that ONLY Google can crawl my site
- Disabled the modules I had on my site that generated dynamic content and were heavy on the database querying (the monthly archives module, the tagadelic module)
- Changed to php4 as per this post
AND STILL, my site crashes the server. Obviously we’re still working out some issues, but it’s looking more and more like time for a major change.
